PESHAWAR:
The Peshawar District Bar Association has strongly condemned the Punjab government and Punjab police for what it termed humiliating and disrespectful treatment of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, provincial ministers, and elected public representatives.

The association declared the incident a violation of democratic norms and several provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan, warning that such conduct could fuel hatred and mistrust among provinces.

The condemnation was voiced during a meeting of the Bar Association held under the chairmanship of its President, Qaiser Zaman Advocate. The meeting was attended by General Secretary Zahidullah Zahid Advocate and other members.

Participants were informed that, upon the arrival of the K-P Chief Minister in Punjab, roadblocks had been erected as part of a pre-planned strategy. Subsequently, the elected chief minister and public representatives were allegedly subjected to public humiliation. The meeting noted that this behavior was not only against democratic values but also in clear violation of Articles 15, 16, and 25 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
